I was born and raised in the small Southwest Virginia town of Pembroke, in Giles County. I attended Giles High School and after graduation I headed east to attend college at The College of William and Mary. I graduated in 1995 with a double major in history and religion, and hung around the 'burg to work at The Bookpress Ltd. In 1999, I moved to State College, PA to be closer to Katherine. I took a job at Webster's Bookstore Cafe where I worked until we moved to Raleigh in August of 2001.
