I guess it's time for a house-hunting update. Around mid-morning Friday we received a new listing by email from our agent. The listing date was Thursday. Chris drove by to check it out on his lunch break, and we got set to see it at 4:45. Well, we liked it. It wasn't our dream house by any means but it was the best one we've seen here so far. It was the first house we've looked at that I could see us living in. Anyway, we told our agent we wanted to make an offer. She had put in a call to the listing agent to ask a few questions and she was also going to make sure it was not already under contract. At about 6:00 we heard from our agent - the house was already under contract; had been since mid-morning, since about the time we first heard about the house.

I won't even go into the depression, frustration, amazement, etc. I really don't know what we're going to do. I have never experienced something like this and I haven't yet figured out how we get to be the ones snatching up a house and causing disappointment for lots of other people.
