Emma Kate had her first beauty shop haircut on Saturday, Nov. 20. I'd been her personal stylist up until then, but her hair had gotten out of control and I didn't think I had the skills to fix it. Here are some photos:
Before.
Cutting.
Blow drying.
After. Notice how we got her to put a much more pleasant expression on her face - a must for an "after" picture.

The morning of October 16, we were on our way to take Emma Kate to the State Fair. Time was running short, and at the very last minute we decided to go to
Ganyard Hill Farm instead. It had most of what I wanted her to experience at the fair, plus pumpkins. (Unfortunately I didn't take the camera.)
Now, I'm
really glad we didn't go to the fair. I feel sure we would have visited the petting zoo - even though those things gross me out and make me feel sad, I would have wanted to show EK the animals. Now I'd either be dealing with a sick child (possibly severely) or I'd be worrying myself to death. We got lucky on that one.
