Two words: Cabin. Fever.
Either that or I'm just way more relaxed than usual, because I'm laughing hysterically at commercials and silly ice-covered powerline graphics on the local ABC weather report.

Emma Kate has a new best friend:
In just the last couple of days she has discovered the dogs. We've not yet really let her get close to Henry - although he'd surely be fine, I just feel like I know Hannah a little better and I'd rather start with her, if that makes sense. Anyway, Emma Kate's face just lights up whenever she sees one of the dogs - it's absolutely adorable. Hopefully this is the beginning of a lifelong friendship.

I have finally finished the first part of Emma Kate's birth story. The second part, which is going to be about her NICU stay and the rest of our time in the hospital, will be done someday, but I didn't want to hold up what I've already written. It's in the baby journal, which is password-protected. If you'd like to read the birth story, let me know...

There are new pics of the little one up in the gallery:
January 2004.
And the somewhat demoted dogs (although we're working on that), enjoying the recent snow:

I'm not sure if I even have any readers left who will respond to this question (since I never write anything for anyone to read these days), but does anyone have experience purchasing a computer through
Tiger Direct? We're not in dire shape yet, but we could use a new computer. We just got a camcorder and will likely be doing some digital video editing, and I'm afraid that's going to tax our current 800 MHz system pretty heavily. Also, we're running a rather precarious Windows ME upgrade on top of Windows 98, and I'd really like to be using XP (for both personal and work-related reasons). I figure there's no justification to go out and drop $300 on XP Pro when new computers can be had for not much more than that. Then I started thinking that we don't really need anything but a new CPU - I'd be glad to keep using the monitor and other peripherals. I checked out Dell's online store (our current computer is a Dell) and found that they really make it impossible for you to just buy a CPU. We actually have a Tiger Direct store in Raleigh, and passing it on my way to work this morning is what got me thinking.
So, if anyone can give me some pointers for buying a computer other than through Dell or Gateway, and only buying what we really need, comment away or send me an e-mail. Thanks!

I overslept this morning. I know I should get over it, but deep down it saddens me that getting up at 7:20 is oversleeping.
