So here's the news... I'm pregnant!!! That, combined with shopping for and moving into a new house, is my excuse for the fact that over a month's worth of posts still show up on the main page of this site. There is a
pregnancy journal, and I've been writing there pretty regularly. It's not publicly available yet, but if you would like to check it out, send me an
email.
Anyway, yeah, we're having a baby. I'm 13 weeks along, due October 1st. We don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl, but hopefully the little one will cooperate and show us at our Level II ultrasound on May 1st (now is not the time for modesty!). I'm feeling okay... I actually haven't thrown up once this whole time, but I've felt plenty nauseous and had my share of other issues. Hopefully better times are just around the corner.
(By the way, I don't mean to sound un-excited about this... I just for some reason feel really awkward breaking the news. I chickened out of a real "announcement" last night at RR rehearsal because I just have this funny feeling about making myself the center of attention... I don't know, I can't explain it. Maybe it's hormonal. That's always a possibility these days!)

Oh yeah, I should probably mention that my
host is going to be moving the servers on Saturday. The site will definitely be down early Saturday morning (from 5-9 AM) as they
drive the servers from Huntsville, AL to Atlanta, GA (yikes!). After that it's anybody's guess, but hopefully things will start working again sometime on Saturday, and surely by Sunday. Thanks for your patience.

Those of you who read this journal fairly regularly may have figured out by now that when I fall silent, it usually means something big is going on in my life that I'm not ready to share. That's true this time, but I'm almost ready to share. Late tonight or tomorrow - most likely tomorrow.

Yesterday I installed Sims Unleashed and I've got to say, this expansion pack could easily re-addict me to the Sims. Sim Chris and Katherine now have a dog (Hannah, of course!) and are learning how to feed, train, and housebreak her. I'm impressed with the effects they built in for pets... every time Hannah would start to circle and sniff the floor, I could feel myself freaking out, wishing my Sim could scoop her up and run her outside. It appears all we can do for now is scold the dog when she makes a mistake... not exactly my preferred training method but I'll deal.

I dislike talking on the phone to strangers so much that I just wished I could send an email to make an appointment for a haircut.

So tired today, and so glad it's Friday. My Saturday will be very busy with Raleigh Ringers stuff, but at least I'll have Sunday to rest! And I definitely plan on going to bed early tonight. These last few nights have been late ones, and I've been getting to bed at midnight, which is just too late.
The house is coming along. If we could make a big push to unpack boxes in the office and unpack and put away books, we'd really be in pretty good shape. Chris has been busy during the evenings this week when I've been out. He's arranged the living room a bit more and gotten the entertainment center set up, and last night he unpacked and put away the CDs. What would I do without him?
We have signed up to write letters to a couple of deployed military members. One of them is in a K-9 unit so we will also get to send things for the dog! I remember writing to a soldier during the Gulf War, possibly as part of a school project. I think his name was Michael. I wonder whatever happened to those letters and to him. I was in 9th grade at the time and all I can really remember about his letters now is that sometimes he wrote with a red ballpoint pen. Funny how that sticks in my mind. Anyway, I hope that this weekend we'll get a chance to do a little shopping and put together some care packages.

Just a quick update to let you know that the move went well and we are gradually getting settled into our new home. The moving day itself wasn't without a couple of ups and downs, but overall it couldn't have been better. We're slowly making progress with the unpacking. The dishwasher has been running constantly and we've gotten a lot of things put away in the kitchen. We've done some shopping and taken care of the basic layout of the two bedrooms (we've barely touched a thing in the master). It's slow going, but we'll get it done eventually. Chris and I both returned to work today and it was kind of nice to get out of the house and take a little break. Maybe this will renew me for the weekend... gotta get my motivation back up!
